About

Lynn Melton knows Wyandotte County. She’s a longterm resident with years of experience serving our community.

As a current legislator, Lynn prides herself in listening to constituents and addressing problems that impact our community. Lynn worked for 4 years in city and county government with duties that included public safety, organized labor and community engagement. Prior to that, Lynn worked for over 30 years in the financial sector, owning her own small business for 20 years of that.

Lynn is married to John and has 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She has lived in Wyandotte County for over 50 years.

Lynn Melton will continue to prioritize the needs of our community in the Kansas State House of Representatives.

Strong schools make strong communities

As your representative, Lynn Melton has consistently voted to fully fund our public education system in Kansas, including adequate funds for special education. Lynn will continue to fight for strong public schools.

A focus on public safety

Lynn supports local law enforcement – that’s why she has repeatedly been endorsed by our local Fraternal Order of Police. For Lynn, public safety will always be a top priority, to ensure our neighborhoods, family, and children are safe in Wyandotte County.

Balanced budgets, fiscal respondsibility

With her professional background in finance, Lynn knows how to manage a budget. Lynn believes in working toward a balanced budget that supports the needs of all Kansans, not special interests.

Lower cost of living

High property taxes and inflation have hit Kansas families hard. Lynn Melton voted to remove the state tax on Social Security and voted to reduce property taxes across the board. These are just a couple measures Lynn has taken to lower your cost of living.
